CAREER-ORIENTED CERTIFICATE AND DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Wisconsin International University College will from January, 2012 start the following Carrier-oriented non-tertiary certificate and diploma programmes:
Travel and Tourism Management (WIUC–TTM–2011)
The Certificate in Tourism Management is a hands-on learning programme that provides students with introductory travel and tourism skills and knowledge that helps them to understand the industry and to operate at the lower and middle management levels.
Computer-assisted Data Analysis (WIUC-CDA-2011)
Students in this course will acquire expertise in computer-based methods for data analysis and decision-making, through computer analysis of business datasets. Topics covered include: descriptive statistics, correlation and regression, hypothesis testing, etc.
Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (WIUC-ESBM-2011)
This course introduces students to the concept of entrepreneurship and equips them with the skills for analyzing a business environment, planning and managing a small or medium-sized business
Certificate in Business Studies (WIUC-CBS-2011)
The course is an introduction to the management courses run at Wisconsin and cuts across Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource and Finance.
Certificate in Management and Computer Studies (WIUC-CMCS-2011)
In this course, students will acquire basic computer skills in addition to the management courses that they will be introduced to. This will prepare them to be able to enter into the Bachelor's degree programme in Management and Computer Studies programme once they are able to clear their deficiencies in WASSCE.
Basic Financial Accounting (WIUC-BFA-2011)
This course introduces the candidate to the fundamentals of financial accounting and provides a working knowledge of accounting systems. It helps the student to understand financial information and equips him with the ability to prepare records and financial statements.
Hardware Upgrading and Maintenance (WIUC-WDM-2011)
This programme will upgrade persons with A+ (hardware), Cisco and Microsoft boxes. At the end, you will be eligible to take the Cisco and Microsoft global exams.
Linux Administration (WIUC-LA-2011)
This programme will provide learners with an indepth knowledge of command line interface for Ubuntu, Redhat, Suse, etc. The learner would also be able to set up an apache server, FTP server, DHCP server, etc.
Customer Relationship Management (WIUC-CRM-2011)
The programme will teach students how to manage interactions with customers, clients and sales prospects in order to attract and win new clients and retain existing ones at a reasonable cost.
Managing Sales in a Competitive Environment (WIUC-SM-2011)
This programme will equip students with the techniques of selling and how to manage sales operations. Among others the key topics will include sales planning, recruitment of sales staff and sales reporting.
Marketing Skills for Small and Medium-sized Business Owners (WIUC-MSME-2011)
Candidates for this programme will be taught the key concepts and principles of Marketing, analysis of the environment, planning and implementation
Website Design and Maintenance (WIUC-WBM-2011)
This programme will enable learners to understand the principles and lines of codes behind website design and its maintenance.
Proficiency in English (WIUC-ENG-2011)
This six-week programme is provided for foreign students for whom English is either a first nor a second language. A Baccalaureate or its equivalent is required.

These programmes are designed for lower and middle level managers and for
candidates who wish to make up for any tertiary programme admission deficiency.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Certificate
Passes in six subjects at the WASSCE/SSCE or equivalent professional or technical qualification. Candidates with deficiencies shall be given the necessary tuition to pass the basic exams and will normally take a longer period to complete.
Diploma
(a) Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations
1. Passes in six subjects at SSCE/WASSCE. Four of the passes must be at the credit or higher level.
ii. Higher credit grade in the certificate programme or its equivalent.
(b) Competitive Entrance Examination Candidates applying for Diploma programmes shall, in addition to academic Qualification, be required to pass a competitive Entrance Examination conducted by Wisconsin and/or interview (where prescribed by the Department).
Application Form and Fee:
Forms may be downloaded from our website www.wiuc-ghana.edu.gh or collected from the Reception at Main Campus (Agbogba) or City Campus (near GBC). Forms shall cost GHC30.00 or US$20.00. Course fee ranges from US$400 to USD700 and is payable in Ghana Cedis. Proficiency in English is US$150. Potential candidates whose applications to degree programmes of the University College were unsuccessful, will be exempted from payment for application form and will be offered admission to make up deficiencies while on the appropriate Diploma
Programmes.
